Hitachino White Ale

I bought this 12oz bottle of beer for $5. It was really cloudy and opaque. It smelled and tasted like flowers. At least the first few sips did. Then I dumped spilled the rest onto my desk and pants. I can be thankful that my Xponent was put away. Alas.

It was an okay beer. The first beer I got from this brewery was the Nest beer, which was a lot tastier than this one. I'm sorry cute little owl, but your beer is kind of meh.

Last night I had the 17th anniversary ale from Unibroue. It was really tasty for a 10%ABV beer, but my not-usually-drinks-beer (totally grammatically incorrect) friend even said it was too sweet. Hrm...

I want to move up in the food pyramid of beer - I'd say beeramid, but that term usually applies to architectural feats contstructed by bros out of cans of Keystone or other equivalent pissy-tasting beer... but yeah. Something with more hops, I s'pose. The last pale ale I had was by Full Sail. I thought it was way too bitter, maybe even bitter enough that'd it'd give me lockjaw or render one of my legs useless. ANYways...

I'm seeking the help of my beloved Alex to scoot me into the land of hops. Stay tuned as this delicate palate moves into The Bitter Zone.

In other news, my staple beers have been Red Stripe and Asahi. The 1L cans of Asahi are too easy to come by and to drink; it's tasty when bubbly but gets flat quickly. Conclusion? Drink quickly or nurse constantly for best taste. This in turn results in a quick buzzed feeling which is quite nice.

Beer beer beer.
